Stuck – Facing Forward is within days of being ready for an editor. All I have left to do is input my last changes, and get some more money... The first part is simply: find time and ‘just do it.’ The second is harder: as much as I do want to be thankful and praise the fact that I have been added to the Chapters/Indigo/Coles system, and I am. There is one drawback.

Me, being a lowly, unknown, self-publishing company the big guy doesn’t want to take a risk of buying my books up front and having to return them to me if I don’t sell. After all they are a business too. So what they’ve done is stocked me on a ‘once you sell we’ll pay you’ way. This works best for them ~ this is killing me! Me, being a lowly, unknown, self-publishing company I sunk all my money into being published and I don’t have scads of it to just wait around for the illusive ‘check that’s in the mail’.

There has to be a middle ground. There has to be a better way. If there is, I haven’t discovered it yet. So here I am, waiting for the check (or checks) to arrive and it’s holding up everything else in the process. It might very well be the next shoe to be dropped for CHiP, because I don’t have the cash to get that printed either ~ not until that check arrives.

Sure hope it comes soon...
