The idea of “Stuck – Facing Forward”
Have you ever had thoughts in your head that you just have to get out? “Stuck” is sort of my release for all the ugliness that sometimes circulates through my brain... When I was younger (far too young to be reading it) I fell in love with V.C. Andrews books. She was a very dark and twisted writer who took her characters into horrible circumstances.
The truth is that the real world is filled with evil villains, even more sinister than some of the ones I’ve created in this story. My hope would be that no one would ever have to meet such people and especially never be hurt by them. Unfortunately it happens every day! And especially to children!! This story is my voice for the victims who have to suffer all the vial things that people get away with.
If I accomplish nothing else through “Stuck” I would like to make more people aware of what is taking place all around us. We as adults need to be aware that not only can it happen, but it does, and we need to take a stand against it.
However the story itself is not rosy, not happy and so in many definitions of what is ‘good’ this story would not fall into that classification. I want to warn anyone thinking about reading it: First – it is intended for an older audience (16 and up). Second – don’t expect it to make you feel happy and hopeful as “Safe” was meant to do.
It is for those two reasons that I hesitate to have “Stuck” published at all... Yet I wrote it, and it is good in the sense that it will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you up in arms over some of the unacceptable things that take place between the covers of the book. And I hope to have it linked to a good charity so that I can generate some funds to help real life people (children) who are stuck in their lives with no escape!
I’ve put the first chapter up on its page: “Stuck – Facing Forward”, I encourage you to take a look and let me know what you think – CONTACT ME.
